Bernerd Boarnet, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Boarnet is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Engineering and has had extensive experience in both engineering and real estate. He began his appraisal career in 1985 and is now a Texas State Certified General Appraiser, AQB-certified USPAP instructor and real estate broker. He has conducted appraisals throughout south-central Texas on a variety of types of real property. He is a member of the National and Texas Associations of Realtors© and has earned the designation Master Senior Appraiser from the National Association of Master Appraisers. He is also a member of the Association of Texas Appraisers, holding the designation ATA-G.
Boarnet is a retired US Army Reserve Officer and it was there that he began his teaching career teaching at the Command and General Staff School level in the 1970s. He has taught both pre-license and continuing education appraisal courses for several schools and associations and has lectured on behalf of Columbia throughout the United States. Like most of the Columbia Faculty members, he enjoys teaching because he feels that in doing so he is giving something back to the profession.
He and his wife Esther, an active real estate broker, live in the San Antonio suburb of New Braunfels.

Bobby Crisp, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Bobby Crisp is the owner of Crisp Appraisal Service located in Schertz, Texas (just northeast of San Antonio). He holds the certified residential certification from the State of Texas. He is certified to teach the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of the Appraisal Foundation and has taught a variety of appraisal courses (qualifying and continuing education) for the past eight years.
He is a member of the Association of Texas Appraisers (ATA) and has been awarded their designation for residential appraisers. He is currently on the Board of Directors and serving as President of ATA. He is an approved FHA appraiser on the Lender Selection Roster and is an approved Fee Appraiser for the VA. He is a member of the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), National Association of Realtors (NAR), Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and has been member of several appraisal organizations. He has received specialized training through George Leonard School of Real Estate, Lincoln Graduate Center, Appraisal Institute, and Texas A&M University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western States University.
Mr. Crisp is married with three children and five grandchildren. His hobbies are playing guitar, collecting sports memorabilia, and watching sports.

Richard DeHeer

DeHeer is president of DeHeer & Associates, LLC in Knoxville, IA. He is a certified general appraiser and also holds a real estate brokers license. He obtained an associates degree in Agricultural Business and worked in the
grain elevator business 10 years before going into the real estate business 22 year ago.
He is a past National President of the National Association of Master Appraisers (NAMA) and served on NAMA's National Board of Directors for 5 years. Additionally, he is past President of the Iowa Chapter of NAMA and served on its board for 3 years. DeHeer also served as NAMA's representative on The Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council (TAFAC) for 3 years and was a spokesman for NAMA with the Appraisal Foundation for 4 years. He served for 2 years on the Iowa Appraisal License board and 3 years on its Disciplinary Committee.

Lloyd George English, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Lloyd George English is a Texas certified residential appraiser. His appraisal designations include, Certified Real Estate Appraiser (CREA), Master Residential Appraiser (MRA), Certified Valuation Consultant (CVC), Employee Relocation Council (ERC), and Certified FHA appraiser. He is a Texas real estate broker with Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and e-PRO real estate designations. Other accomplishments include dispute resolution mediator, Texas property tax arbitrator, mortgage loan officer and FEMA disaster property inspector.
With over 20-years in the real estate industry, Lloyd has a multi-faceted background, which has provided him with an exceptional well-rounded career with notable talents and credentials. He has taught at the grade school, junior college, and university levels. He is certified by the Texas Real Estate Commission in real estate education as an instructor, AQB Certified Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) Instructor, and is endowed with the coveted Certified Real Estate Instructor (CREI) designation. His formal education includes a Bachelor in Mathematics and a Master of Business Administration.

George Harrison, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

George R. Harrison, Ph.D. is president and founder of Columbia. He has had extensive experience in variance aspects of real estate to include finance, consulting development, appraisal and education. He founded Columbia in 1992 to serve the appraisal community and has conducted educational programs throughout the US, Canada, Russia and Bulgaria. He has authored three books on appraisal topics and one on environmental analysis; and has authored more than thirty papers on related subjects. Two of his books have been translated into Russian. He is known for his expertise in appraisal quality control and management, being a co-founder of the Accredited Review Appraiser's Council and having been awarded designations of Certified Review Appraiser (National Association of Review Appraisers) and Accredited Senior Appraiser with a specialty in appraisal review (American Society of Appraisers). He has also been awarded designations in environmental analysis and represented the Environmental Assessment Association at the Envirotek 1995 in Moscow.
He is a Realtor® member of the NAR through the San Antonio Board and holds degrees in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and the Pacific Western University of Los Angeles. He has received specialized training through American College, New York University, Lincoln Graduate Center and Texas A&M.

Robert Hetrick, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Bob Hetrick earned a BBA degree from Texas Tech University in 1964 with a specialty in real estate and finance. With the exception of his service as an Army officer in Vietnam he has been involved in real estate activities throughout south Texas, both as a national bank examiner and loan officer, real estate broker; and as a real estate appraiser.
In the early 1990s he served as an environmental specialist and appraisal reviewer for Travis Savings and Loan in San Antonio. Subsequently, he was associated with the Maxwell Company as a commercial and residential appraiser until 1997 when he became associated with the Columbia Institute.
Since 1997 he has been associated with Columbia primarily teaching USPAP, Eminent Domain and Building Construction courses throughout the nation. He also is an independent appraiser and environmental site assessor working in the South and Southwest Texas market specializing in residential, commercial and eminent domain assignments. He has conducted environmental site assessments, as well as other related site analyses, throughout south Texas, and has extensive experience in forensics as an expert witness. Bob is also a past president of South Texas Chapter of the International Right of Way Association.

Diana Jacob, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Diana T. Jacob has been involved in real property appraisal since 1990. She holds the certified general certification from the states of North Carolina and Georgia and residential certification from the state of Louisiana. She has actively practiced appraising in both North Carolina and Louisiana. She is certified to teach the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of the Appraisal Foundation and has taught a variety of appraisal courses throughout the US for several schools and associations.
She is well known as a prominent appraisal instructor and author, beginning with financial analysis of income-producing properties in 1990 and developing into land and residential subjects. She currently teaches both qualifying and continuing education courses and has had authored more than twenty-five formal publications including papers, course curriculum and texts. Her most recent and comprehensive writing is the Appraisers' Desk Reference, Volume 1 - Completing the URAR, which is published by the Columbia Institute and provides step-by-step guidance, including recommended comments for both FHA and conventional appraisals. She has been a member of the Senior Faculty of Columbia Institute since 2004.
She resides with her husband, Hal Tidwell, on their cattle ranch near Hillsboro, Texas.

Howard Charles Johnson, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

"Chuck" Johnson obtained his BA degree from Western Illinois University in 1987 with an emphasis in Business. 1990 Mr. Johnson received is Juris Doctorate Degree from City University Los Angeles CA. School of Law. Mr. Johnson has been practicing in the appraisal profession since 1989 and is a certified general appraiser in: Arizona, Utah, Idaho and Montana. Mr. Johnson has been teaching Appraisal and Appraisal related courses during the past 10 years, and has formerly taught for AZ School of Real-estate, and Lincoln Graduate Center. Some of the courses that Mr. Johnson enjoys the most include: USPAP, and appraisal review.
Mr. Johnson is the proud father of 8 children ages: 29, 27, 25, 21, 19, 18, 17 and 12. With two step children ages: 15,and 14. Hobbies include: Calf penning, flying, and sports.

Martin Molloy, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Martin J. Molloy entered the appraisal profession in 1971 with Joseph Blake & Associates in New York at their main office. He has Certified General Certificates from New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. He holds an ASA Real Property Urban Designation for the American Society of Appraisers and has been President of the New Mexico Chapter three times. His education includes several undergraduate and graduate degrees.
He has been teaching the appraisal program at the University of New Mexico since 1991. He also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at the College of Santa Fe since the mid 1990's. These courses include economics, finance, and accounting. Marty has owned Molloy & Associates since the mid-70's, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico which conducts both residential and commercial appraisals. He has been recognized as an expert witness in various local and federal courts.
His interests include being a public affairs officer with the Coast Guard Auxilliary, boating, model railroading, trap and skeet shooting and various hobbies.

Roy Morris, III, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Roy Morris has been an instructor of qualifying and continuing education including USPAP for over 15 years. In addition to serving on the Appraisal Foundation as a trustee and the Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council, he was an investigator for his state appraisal board.
Roy Morris has been an expert witness on USPAP as well as real estate valuation issues in three states.

Joe Portera is the President of Guardian Appraisal Services, LLC and owner of Texas Realty Services. He holds the certified general real estate Appraiser certification from the State of Texas. He is certified to teach the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of the Appraisal Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
He is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers holding designations as Certified Real Estate Appraiser (CREA), Certified Valuation Consultant (CVC), and Designated by the National Association of Master Appraisers as a Master Senior Appraiser (MSA). Employee Relocation Council (ERC) has confers Mr. Portera as an ERC Trained Appraiser. Joe is an approved FHA appraiser on the Lender Selection Roster. He is a member of the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), National Association of Realtors (NAR), and Houston Association of Realtors (HAR). He has received specialized training in Real Estate Appraisal through the Lincoln Graduate Center, the Appraisal Institute, and The Columbia Institute.
Joe has been involved in real estate since 1983, beginning in the title and escrow industry, then as a real estate broker, property tax consultant, and independent fee appraiser. His teaching experience dates back to 1991 as an instructor in Residential Appraisal, Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Math, Law of Agency, and Residential Inspection. He teaches courses on: Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures, Advanced Residential Applications, Statistics, Modeling, & Finance, Mortgage Fraud, Residential Report Writing, Marshall & Swift Cost Approach, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, Appraisal Review, Investment Analysis, Financial Analysis of Income Properties, Direct Capitalization, Yield Capitalization, and Writing the Narrative Report.

Bryan S. Reynolds, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Reynolds is the owner of Reynolds Appraisal Service located in Owensboro, Kentucky. He has extensive experience in the western Kentucky area, primarily in the appraisal of 1-4 family dwellings, small income producing properties, hobby farms and vacant land. He has been a FHA appraiser on the Lender Selection Roster and formerly the fee panel for the past ten years. He provides litigation support and has served as an expert witness in various courts. He has also appraised various properties in Illinois and served on the Appraisal Committee of the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association. Reynolds has assisted in the development of continuing education course material and has instructed appraisal classes throughout the country.

Greg Reynolds

Greg Reynolds is a Certified Residential Appraiser in the state of Texas and is SVP of Orisyn Research, Inc., a national review appraisal management company based in north Texas and Philadelphia, PA. He earned his BS in Management from The University of Texas @ Dallas and his MS in Economics from Texas A&M University in Commerce. He began appraising real property in 1987 and has owned a residential appraisal firm, served as Chief Appraiser for LandSafe Appraisal Services, and teaches Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Finance, Macro/Micro Economics at the collegiate level, and continuing education courses for The Columbia Institute.
Greg has begun work on his PhD in Economics at The University of Texas @ Dallas and expects to complete his PhD in 2011.
Greg has been married to his wife Teresa for 23 years and currently resides in Van Alstyne, TX. They are the proud parents of 2 children and very soon to be 1 granddaughter. When not at work Daniel enjoys all types of sporting activities including TaeKwonDo (black belt), golf, water-skiing, and basketball

Daniel Smith, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Daniel D. Smith is a Certified Residential Appraiser in the state of Arizona and is the owner of Daniel D. Smith and Associates located in Tempe Arizona. He earned his Real Estate Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from Arizona State University in 1973 and began appraising real property for Southwest Savings and Loan the same year. In 1977 he became the chief appraiser for Southwest Savings and served in that capacity until he became a contractor appraiser for First Federal Savings and Loan. Daniel D. Smith and Associates was established in 1984 and the company specializes in residential appraisal practice including 1-4 unit Conventional, FHA, VA, Legal, and complex residential assignments.
Daniel is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor and teaches both pre-licensing and continuing education courses for several education providers. He has been a licensed Realtor Agent/Realtor Broker since 1977 and has taught real estate licensing courses for the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business in Scottsdale Arizona.
Daniel has been married to his wife Kathleen for 33 years and currently resides in Gilbert Arizona. They are the proud parents of 4 children and are currently happy to be empty nesters. When not at work Daniel enjoys all types of aviation activities having anything to do with airplanes, helicopters and skydiving.

Richard Vannatta, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Richard M. Vannatta, R/W-AC, SR/WA, ASA, Real Property Urban and MTS, is an active participant in the Real Estate and Personal Property appraisal community. He is past Treasurer and Vice President of his ASA Chapter and served two terms as its President. He is a member of IRWA Chapter 13's Professional Development Committee and served as chapter Vice President and President and he is President of Vannatta Brothers of Columbus, Ohio. He started his professional career as a licensed real estate sales agent in 1970 and began his appraisal career in 1972. Since that time, his interests have included site development aspects of the real estate business and land investments. His appraisal practice specializes in various types of judicial or problem-solving matters such as bankruptcy, divorce, probate, end-lease negotiations, and appropriation/condemnation. He also teaches appraisal courses and is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor. Mr. Vannatta believes his activities in sales, acquisitions; and land development have benefited him as an appraiser, and instructor because they help to keep him in-tune with market participants' perceptions of market conditions, trends, and preferences.
